I had an interesting conversation with Jane Porter, a writer for Entrepreneur about choosing domain names for businesses, particularly small and medium sized bricks-and-mortar businesses, their target audience. The owners know they need a web presence, but finding and choosing a domain name has somewhat different aspects than picking a name for their businesses, though branding is important for both. Owners need to have websites which can be found easily in search engines. Local businesses, in particular, can benefit from adding a geographic name to the business name.
